When you go to your local tech store, Apple store, or Geek Squad because you're having a problem with your device -- phone, tablet, laptop -- the first question you're asked is "what are you trying to do that you cannot do?" But the next question is what confuses most people: Is your device backed up?
There's a lot of information on your device that you don't want to lose. Is you were writing a term paper, for instance, and you were still using a typewriter, you'd also be using carbon paper so you had a copy of your work.
Backup is your carbon copy. Every phone or tablet has this capability. Computers require a separate item to backup your information. But once your information is backed up, you're good.
Should you lose your phone, drop your tablet, or spill water on your laptop keyboard, all you'll lose is money because you'll be able to retrieve all your information because it's now stored in The Cloud. Huh?
NEXT WEEK: THE CLOUD
